What counts as feedback?

I will aboard feedback from the receiver’s perspective.

This is because regardless of whether or not the feedback is delivered appropriately, it is the receiver who is in the power of making sense and implementing changes in behaviors. It is the receiver’s abilities to interpret the information that was offered to them what makes the experience into a learning opportunity.

Feedback can be read in every single interaction or comment. It doesn’t matter if it was direct or implicit feedback nor formal or informal. The receiver is always in control of deciding what type of information they want to tap into and explore more in order to learn from that.

Of course, learning about ourselves is not the same as learning about other things, especially if we do not like what we hear, the way in which it was delivered, either the person who gave it. However, the learning opportunity is over there. Therefore, as a coach, I want to help you to become a skillful learner at receiving feedback.
